The ADAS observing and data acquisition procedure
The CCD camera SCAM1,is controlled by the acquisition software CUTE( Control Unit for Telescope Exposures ), developedby Stefano Mottola. Currently the programis run interactively by the operator at the telescope, but the software alsoprovides support for remote operations.
Stare mode exposures cover a FOV of 49 x 49 arcmin.
Some observations are currently done in scan mode, which gives an equivalentexposure time of 196 seconds. Typically, 10 minute scans are taken ofpre-selected fields; each field is observed three times during a night.Scanning is only possible at declinactions below 20 degrees.
Under very good observing conditions objects as faint as 21.0 magnitudes arereadily detected. Typically, however, our limiting magnitude lies between19.0 and 19.5
