The New Response Functions

Basing on the huge library of 1 Å resolution stellar spectra calculated by Munari et al. (2004, to be submmitted) over a large range of log(Teff), log(g), [Z/Z8] and both for solar and a-enhanced abundance ratios ([Xel/Fe]), we have calculated the analog of the so-called Response Functions (RFs) of Tripicco & Bell (1995) for a wide range of log(Teff), log(g), [Z/Z8] and [a/Fe]=+0.4 (Tantalo et al. 2007). The new RFs are given for the metallicities [Z/Z8]= -2.0, -1.5, -1.0, -0.5, 0.0 and following combinations of temperature and gravity.

The RFs are defined as follows:

dI(Teff, log g, [Z/Z8] )=Ienh-Isol

where Isol and Ienh are generic index on the Lick-System for solar-scaled and [a/Fe]=+0.4 respectively. The same have been calculated for the Lick resolution (solar-scaled and [a/Fe]=+0.4).

Click here to get the RFs (and here for the Lick resolution), see Tantalo & Chiosi 2004 and Tantalo et al. 2007 for more details.
